About Cobalt Web
Established in early 2009 – Cobalt Web is a small web hosting business located in the South West. We aim to provide a quality web hosting service at highly competitive prices, making our services ideal for individual and small business websites alike.
Starting out originally offering shared web hosting, our ranges have grown over the past year to now include Domain names, SSL Certificates and even Virtual Private Servers – ideal for larger, corporate websites.
We pride ourselves on the personal touch that our customers receive. Our friendly UK support team is here to help with any questions you may have, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We understand that web hosting is a very competitive and technical area, so we aim to help simplify the process for you with our clear pricing plans, easy to use control panels, and friendly support.
Our Pricing
Being a small business, we have lower overheads than larger web hosting companies, thus ensuring we can offer the most competitive pricing to our customers, whilst still receiving a reliable and friendly service.
The Datacentre
Our servers are located in the BlueSquare data centre, in Maidenhead, UK. The technical specifications of the data centre can be viewed below:
- 10,000 sq ft total size
- 1.5 megawatt on-site substation
- Diverse power feeds to substation
- Broadcrown 2 megawatt generator connected via ATS systems
- Two main fibre duct points into building
- N+1 PowerWave UPS system
- N+1 Airedale Air Handling system
- 22°C +/- 2°C data floor temperature
- 16 Amp feed per equipment rack
- 24x7 secure entry via swipe card system, with 6-layer entry
- Datacentre located inside its own secure compound, with 3-metre fencing and electric entry, including anti-tailgate systems
Network Infrastructure
We have 2 x 10 Gbps uplink for our Data center. All our servers have 100 Mbps network card and they are connected to 1 Gbps switch. We have multiple network backups to ensure 100% network uptime.
- Fully redundant, enterprise-class Cisco routing equipment
- Connecting with Tier 1 providers, as well as over 250 peerings at the London Internet Exchange (LINX)
- Cisco switches of 1 Gbps speed. Latency between the switches in minimum.
